WELCOME to PC vs MAC, an IDS110 project!

Before you place your bet on your favorite computer, surf through this website and learn about each system. This website provides raw, unbiased, and uncensored information on the both the PC and Mac. Most sites you surf through will provide information exclusively on one system and will rarely be unbiased. You won't find opinions from people like yourself, and people who use both systems regularly.

The reason this site was made is to educate people about the two most popular platforms in the world, the PC and Mac. Most people, instead of embracing the technological abilities of each system, tend to use one platform and hate anything besides that one system. PC users will constantly bash on Mac users and vice versa. Once, a college student was searching for a new laptop to buy for school. When Apple was suggested as a possible option, he grimaced and said, "Apples suck. I'll never use an Apple." But when questioned why or if he had ever used a computer made by Apple, he shrugged his shoulders. Later on, he said he used it once and didn't like it.

The problem is, the system you start using first is the system you will have a preference for. You would have grown accostumed to that system and anything new would be a burden to learn and "hard to use." The timeframe that the student used the Mac for is too short. It is only when he has the same abilities to work with both systems that his opinions of either system are legitimate.

Mac or PC?:Mac
Have you used both platforms?: Yes. My PC broke down and my friends were boasting about their Mac so I bought one. With the student discount it wasn't so expensive.
What do you like/dislike about the PC?:
I like how PC has a lot of software. It's cheaper and has more competitors. But the value of a PC goes down quickly and there are lots of viruses. PC's don't have Expose (an OS X feature).

Mac or PC?:Both
What did you start out using?:PC
Why did you start using the Mac?: I saw it at the Apple store and it looked really nice. I liked the GUI and I needed a sturdy laptop so I bought it. My best friend also showed me a lot of cool applications that it offered that PC didn't have.
What is one good thing about each system?: PC's have a lot more support than Macs. They're a lot easier to upgrade. My mac is more stable and I love it. I don't have to worry about spyware or viruses.
If you had to choose, which one would you pick?: Mac but I still keep my PC desktop around because it is still more widely used than the mac.
