WELCOME TO WOMEN EMPOWERMENT!

Today many women in America have been blessed with boundless opportunities that other women around the world could only dream of. We are free to become who and what we want — a statement that was not true about fifty years ago in this country. However despite the freedoms and opportunities available to us, many women, especially those in college, experience a lack of self-confidence or self-worth, jeopardize their own self-respect in order to meet societal expectations, get involved in manipulative and mentally abusive relationships, and fail to reach our fullest potential due to fear or cultural norms.

Many of these issues could have otherwise been prevented or alleviated if we were part of a strong community of women role models, mentors, leaders, and friends available to support each other in all facets of life and encourage each other to become their best self. Unfortunately many of us did not have strong women role models in our lives as we were growing up, and the fierce competition among girls at an early age may have deterred many of us from seeking advice from one another. This can create a population of women very vulnerable to stress, societal pressure, opposite sex manipulation, and a loss of self-believe.

Women Empowerment was created out of the demand for a support group of women, especially in a college setting, dedicated to creating a safe, open space for communication, growth, and learning. We lead by education by hosting a variety of workshops geared towards assisting women in some of the most difficult areas of their lives such as: self-love and self acceptance, understanding relationships, learning to move past cultural stigmas and instead cultivating the individual. Most importantly we accept the responsibility that we women must support one another in order to reach our fullest potentials. As college women with the opportunity to positively impact the quality of this world, there could not been a more important time for the creation of this group. We hold firmly to the idea that by empowering ourselves and each other we take action for change and improvement in our own lives and others.
