I am an educated movie watcher, bad science disbelieving, moon orbit preserving. Icarus, I figured that was a bad movie plot from the 1970s. It turns out I was right. Sigh. Hollywood still has not grown up.

I am the film producer, producing for the masses, disregarding the small market of "educated watchers".

| Not quite. I was a bad TV series from the 1970s. As for Mission to Mars, it is actually vastly superior to most Hollywood productions when it comes to science. The entire setup it used for its Mars missions is what is a legitimate proposal widely considered to be the most workable approach yet. It was only the alien technology that goes beyond any known science, and I am far more forgiving for such things. Who knows what may be possible? I am Amish, shunning artificial entertainments, practicing simplicity.

I am the Industrial Revolution, simplicity shattering, productivity enhancing. on Dec 22nd, 2004, 4:09pm, Icarus wrote:Not quite. I was a bad TV series from the 1970s. As for Mission to Mars, it is actually vastly superior to most Hollywood productions when it comes to science. |
| It was a movie and a TV series. Both came up on IMDB. Anyway, Mission to Mars was decent science by Hollywood standards, but the spacewalk scene was pretty dumb. Every time I think of that movie, I think of the girl's watch that says "point of no return" as she goes out to save (I think) her husband. Also, the cloth tent on the Mars surface with really tough to swallow, almost as tough as the fusion reactions in Spider-Man 2.

I am communism, rewarding laziness, penalizing productivity. If there was a movie, it must have been made-for-tv. Mercifully, I have forgotten it. Just as I also forgot the "point of no return" watch from Mission to Mars. But the tent part is actually serious. Needless to say, the material needs to be stronger than ordinary canvas, and to be airtight, but it still makes sense as the lightest way to provide a structure of significant size. Shipping charges for sending materials to Mars are a bit on the hefty side.

I am a 19th century critisist, calling Jules Verne's ideas science fiction, his ideas will never to true. How can anyoneone believe to go 20.000 leagues in a underwater boat. And what's that stupid idea of going up in the air with a balloon filled with light gasses?

I am an imaginary story/elseworlds tale, not official continuity, allowing gold kryptonite usage without lasting effects.

It's been 9 days and nobody replied to the Stone Ages. Does that mean there isn't anybody who knows a reply or is everybody on this forum tired of the Sandman Duel?

EZ Lonney, the facts as you state and as is proven by abundant evidence, indicate that the Sandman Duel has been won. I come here before you, as the Official Person with No Particular Authority, to declare you: EZ Lonny as the Winner of this, the Sandman Duel. Huzzah, Huzzah, Hip Hip Hurrah, Congratulations! For he's a jolly good fellow... Now, lets all go get a cold beverage of our choice and drink it quickly and throw the empty container in the fireplace. Long live the King!
