What does this all have to do with Albert Einstein?

This puzzle was long ago (and falsely, if I recall) attributed to Albert Einstein. It is probably the best-known example of a Gaussian Elimination puzzle (don't ask me why they are called that - I don't know), but despite the grandiose claim in the first post, it is far from the hardest. A friend of mine used to subscribe to Tough Puzzles in the 1980s, and it had three or four each month (in addition to puzzles of other types), all of which were more convoluted than this one.

The Answer is solved by deduction, not process of elemination.  The German lives in the green house, smokes Prince, drinks coffee and keeps a fish.

No, no!
The Norvegian owns a cat, the fish lives in a green house, in the yellow house one drinks water.
But OK, beer is served with Bleu Master.
