I am a Moon-landing-is-a-hoax supporter, misunderstanding magnetic fields, claiming Van Allen belt radiation will kill astronauts.

It is rather ironic that immediately after I created this continuation thread, William made it unnecessary. The new forum version displays only a single page of previous posts on the reply page, so you don't get the "long wait while the whole thread downloads" symptom that caused me to break this one in two.

I am Canada, thinking that laissez is not faire enough, banning caffeine in light-colored drinks, causing Mountain Dew fans to mourn piteously.

(Alright, so this is not exactly the best counter. But the whole discussion reminded me of my niece and nephew - currently attending college in Canada, rejoicing over real M.D. while visiting over the holidays.)

I am the war of 1812 that might have been; ending in US victory with the annexing of large parts of Canadian territory, weakening Canada's sovereignty so much that it breaks apart into several small British protectorates.

(This might be far fetched, but I just finished an essay by Stephen Gould in which he discusses the war of 1812. Just another timely coincidence.
