You find them at airports. Around here, the way they point is most often north.

Yeah, you can find them on suction cups attached to the inside of windshields.

| My answer is a compass, which I think is what everyone else was thinking of. I've seen them on suction cups attached to windows before, although not windshields. Usually they stick to the dashboard, and in older cars I've seen them on the driver's side mirror (not often anymore with the collapsible mirrors). Also, about seeing them in airports, I don't remember seeing one there. Maybe the pilots and tower have them, but not in the concourses. Or maybe your airport is different than the ones I've visited

If I know what Icarus is thinking, that's not it. Besides, you don't need to have a fluid in a compass. Many (most?) just rest the arm on sharp point to make a good bearing.

Exactly. I suppose you can use a fluid compass to fit the first line, but I don't see how a compass has 2 skins. On the other hand, most windsocks consist of two tubes, one inside the other.

I don't know about windsocks having two tubes/skins, but nothing in the riddle says it has to point the right way - it simply states "I can point the way" And the most common way to "point the way" is your index finger. So a glove may fill ... err ... fit both conditions: the fill/empty issue and the two-skins issue (the glove's skin without and the hand's skin within)

Yes - that sounds like the intended answer, but I still say that a double-tube windsock works as well.

Alright back to the subject. I am thinking more on the lines of a person .We need food to think (point the way to success) and without it, we would die. The two skins might be the one outside, and some kind of tissue. If that is wrong, I think i'll go with drummer's answer.

Though I come up with "windsock", I believe that Lupin's answer is the intended one. The two skins are the glove itself and the skin of the hand. When filled, it can point the way if that is what the hand inside is doing. When empty it does not move. I like the windsock answer, but not all windsocks have two skins.

i also got windsock and does it have to have 2 layers to it, cant it just be an inside and outside? it still works that way, i didnt think of glove but that also works, probably better in fact. do you like the hat? i like the hat. it's my hat. i have a hat like this.
