I need help fast. My friend just gave me what is I'm sure a simple riddle and I can't think of the answer. Help!! What floats in a sink but sinks in a float?

:: Ice cream :: That's a stab in the dark, hopefully to get this thread moving. And I can justify my answer: Ice cream sinks in a root beer float, but when you rinse off the ice cream scoop, the little chunks float in the sink water.

I was thinking that would work though, it the question was worded differently: What sinks in the sink, but floats in a float.
Hmmm... Doe's Ice cream sink in a sink full of water? I don't think so...
Is Root Beer less dense than water? So it would float in a sink, but stay at the bottom in a float?
Edited to hide this, just in case.

well, root beer has bubbles, so if those attach to the ice-cream it will be more likely to float.. But I think generally ice-density is lower than that of water, so it would float either way.. A straw however might well work in this case; if enough bubbles gather on it's surface it will rise, and in water it sinks (that's of course assuming the sink is filled with water, and not, say, mercury)

Does it say what each item contains? If not, the the answer is anything that floats if the sink is filled with water and the float is filled with air.

One thing nagging me is what if a "float" isn't a root beer float, the first thing that comes to mind, but some kind of boat or raft? I'm not much for nautical terms so I don't know though.

But then root beer floats aren't that bad for you. I was thinking that if a float was a boat or something nautical, then the riddle turns into...I don't know but its just not right.
And by the way, how do you make it so that you have to highlight to make the words appear?

Sometime, William ought to consider changing out one of the seldom used buttons up there with a "hide" button. How often do people want to make their words glow or have shadow or move across the page anyway? (I have used all three at times, but not out of need.)

Come to think of it, how about beef jerky, baby ruth candy and meat loaf?

Root beer floats are almost better than sex, at least if you use the best root beer for floats (A&W) and get it with homemade ice cream (usually from one of those little hole in the wall restaurants, not a chain).
Beef jerky is another good one. Goes well with beer and whiskey. 100% beef. Slightly chewy, but not in a bad way.
Babe Ruth is a typical candy bar. I don't eat candy anymore (too sweet), but you're not missing much.
Meat loaf is awesome if done right (usually it is not). It has so much more taste than plain beef, yet it still has that meaty taste.
