One answer that comes to mind is love. Interpretation here, though, is critical. The riddle can be interpreted as: 1) The more you take (of X), the less you receive (of X); or 2) The more you take (of X), the less you receive (of Y). Each may have a distinct set of answers. Love seems to me to satisfy interpretation 1 while medicine and sickness seem to satisfy interpretation 2. Just my $0.02 worth.

Two X-Y type solutions are: The more advice you take, the less danger/risk you receive. The more no-pay leave you take, the less money you receive. One X-X type solution I can think of fulfilling the question (though not perfectly well) is time, as the more time you take (meaning wasting it), the less you will eventually have.
