About
The Berkeley Biofuels Technology Club (BTC) is a student-led organization at UC Berkeley committed to advancing campus sustainability by converting waste cooking oil from dining halls into biodiesel fuel for campus vehicle use. Founded in 2014 by a group of students, BTC operates with the mission to create a sustainable waste-to-energy loop that both reduces carbon emissions and campus dependence on fossil fuels. BTC performs its research in the Incubator Lab on campus and runs a 50 gallon reactor at the Richmond Field Station, where large batches of biodiesel are made.
