About

Biofuels Technology Club (BTC) seeks to create a sustainable loop on campus through converting waste cooking oil from the dining halls into biodiesel for use in campus vehicles. BTC is composed of 35 diverse students who share a passion for the environment, green chemistry, and student-directed research. BTC performs its research in the Incubator Lab on campus and runs a 50 gallon reactor at the Richmond Field Station, where large batches of biodiesel are made.
