Who We Are

The Cal Construction Competition Team is affiliated with the UC Berkeley College of Engineering competition teams. We are comprised of ten divisions with around 120 undergraduate and graduate students of various majors such as Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, and more. We have a diverse range of backgrounds and interests, and we are always looking for talented members with an interest in strategy in construction, engineering, and development. Many of our alumni join construction management, technology, and architecture careers in the San Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles.

What We Do

Every year, we travel to Sparks, Nevada where we compete in the Associated Schools of Construction (ASC) competition. During the fall semester, we prepare our members with weekly work meetings for their respective divisions: Commercial, Concrete Solutions, Design-Build, Heavy Civil, Mixed Use, Integrated Project Delivery, Preconstruction, Project Management, Sustainability, and Virtual Design and Construction. We also provide professional development by providing resume workshops, weekly company information sessions, and alumni mentorship.

How We Do It

What sets us and our team apart is the emphasis we put on team chemistry. We believe the most important asset in any industry is the people. Our prompts often include the intersection of management, business strategy, and engineering, and our capacity to leverage our analytical skills with our team is what makes our work stand out. We also emphasize team bonding and social events through the semester, including ice skating, dinners, and barbecue!
