Host a MOVE fellow

Become a MOVE fellow

Are you a UC Berkeley student ready to help out off-campus organizations and work directly with the community?

Fellows visit their host site for 8-10 hours weekly, and attend weekly cohort meetings. It is a year-long commitment, compensated with a $1000 semesterly stipend.

Mentorship

  • Develop organizing and advocacy skills 
  • Build intergenerational relationships with community leaders
  • Learn from lived experiences and community wisdom

Organizing

  • Learn about social justice issues
  • Engage in praxis oriented research
  • Observe organizing methods in action
  • Participate in grassroots work

Reflection

  • Attend weekly cohort meetings 
  • Contextualize your experience with other student fellows
  • Engage in critical and open dialogue on sociopolitical issues
  • Create an end of the year project to summarize your fellowship experience

Become a MOVE coordinator

Do you want to see how the fellowship is put together? Are you interested in administration, communication, development or leadership? We are always looking for more members to become a part of our team.

Coordinators attend weekly meetings to coordinate tasks, as well as weekly meetings with staff at the Asian Pacific American Student Development (APASD) Office. It is a year-long commitment, compensated with a $1000 semesterly stipend. You do not have to be a student or a past fellow to become part of our MOVE planning team.
