Tuesday, October 29 Mark on Power Pop In the October/November issue of Magnet, Mark has the following to say about his favorite power pop song: "Set Me Free" - Sweet I know this isn't an American band, but it's the first song that popped in my head. I used to lose myself listening to Desolation Boulevard in junior high, and "Set Me Free" is the highlight of the album. It's a giant hook with candy-coated harmonies clinging to a tune with unbelievable velocity and torque. It is the power-pop ideal. Unlike most music of the genre, this song actually has power.
