'Olive' PV : Evolution-M now has a short clip of the PV for 'Olive'. You can find it on the main page by clicking on the right-hand tab for the 'Olive' CDS, then clicking on the picture of the CD cover. Evolution-M auditions : Makkun's label is now accepting audition tapes. Complete information is located here. Amateurs, professionals are both eligible, and people of any gender or age is encouraged to apply. The application asks for, among other things, a resume, musical experience history, head shots, and demo tapes. Successful auditioners will be announced on-air on Okui Masami's radio program 'O-live,' and will be eligible to perform a song written by Okui Masami, which will become available for download on Animelomix's ringtone melody site. Also, a possible record deal may also be involved.... Radio Program 'O-live' : Makkun's new radio show on Animelomix, 'O-live' (pronounced 'oh-live') is on the air and also online! Streaming audio is available on the O-live website, updated at with a new broadcast at the start of each week. The show includes Makkun's responses to messages from fans, a melody ringtone feature corner, and a section where Makkun talks about her plans as a music producer. The 'Dragonfly spring tour 2005', sponsored by Animelomix, will include a concert at Osaka on 2/18, another concert at Nagoya on 2/27, and a final concert at Shibuya (Tokyo) on 3/13. Olive Promotion Talks : Okui Masami will be holding several talks and greeting sessions throughout the month of December to promote her single release 'Olive'. Shimokawa Mikuni's KOHAKU : Anime singer and ex-Chekicco member Shimokawa Mikuni recently released a single and album featuring a song written by Yabuki Toshirou, with lyrics written by Okui Masami, 'KOHAKU'. Okui Masami has started her very own... independent record label company!?!? Yes, Makkun's big announcement on Thursday was about this latest, rather intriguing project of hers. The label sports a fitting name, "evolution", and a very stylish logo. Check out the official evolution website here. Okui Masami's comments regarding evolution can be found on the evolution section of her homepage, with a translation provided here :

Hello, the hot days of summer continue -- is everyone doing all right!? I've been very busy every day. My physical health is also fairly okay. Now then, word about this has been posted at makusonia for an extended time, but here now is my announcement to you all.

Starting this July, I, Okui Masami, have started up an indepedent record label, evolution. As I have been working on self-producing, doing r.o.r/s, participating in JAM Project, etc., I have been continually faced with many challenges and my own thoughts of, " OK, what can I do now?" and "What should I be doing now?", and that's the reason for my actions. I often think about the idea, "How much can a person improve herself and advance during her whole life?", and it's become a sort of personal policy. Therefore, in accordance with that policy, I've resolved to advance to the next step. The label name "evolution" represents the spirit in that decision. Of course, I'll still be releasing singles and albums as Okui Masami, but I will also begin to delve deeper into production, which I've been planning to do for some time now. The first single is planned to be released in the fall. I will be working in cooperation with Geneon Entertainment to make releases widely available to everyone.

In other news, MaBIC's annual fan-gathering event has been decided! As before, it will be a travel event, but this time will be for a complete 2 days and 1 night. The Osaka trip will start August 28; the Tokyo trip is set for September 18. The event will include a yutaka (light kimono) dress-up party and a piano concert by Okui Masami. Reserving a place for either trip requires membership in MaBIC.

2004.07.24 -
Makkun has an important announcement that will be posted at makusonia on Thursday, July 29. She will also be appearing on two TV programs to say a few words (involving her big announcement?). Her appearance on AnimeTV will air on TV Kanagawa on Sunday, August 1 at 12:00-12:30 AM; and her appearance on Coming Soon TV (Channel 720 on SKYPerfecTV!) will air on August 2 at 1:00-1:30 AM.

Meanwhile, JAM Project is planning to release its 3rd "BEST" album, JAM Project BEST III, in late September. Pre-order information is as follows :

2004.07.15 -
JAM Project's trip to Brazil has ended. The group's summer activities are from from over, however: JAM has yet another concert scheduled, a special anime song concert viewing tour, "JAM Project in Hamanako Hanahaku", on Wednesday, August 25 from 1:30-2:30 PM. Buses will be picking guests up from 3 sites -- Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka. For more information, visit the event information site.

Also, news (rumor?) is floating around of a piano concert by Makkun being on the drawing boards. More details will come once news officially appears on makusonia or some other credible website.

2004.06.05 -
JAM Project now officially has three major concert events planned for the remainder of 2004. The first is the Animefriends convention in Brazil this summer.
The second is an anime song festival titled 'ANIME JAPAN FES2004', to be held at Shibuya O-East on August 15 (Sunday).
Third, JAM's 4th live concert tour, which will include a concert at Osaka's Nanba Hatch on October 9, 2004 followed by one at Tokyo's Hibiya Open-Air Stage on October 16, 2004.

Two pieces of major news:
1) An unusual book release from Okui Masami titled 'Miyabi' (the word uses the kanji of 'Masa' of 'Okui Masami', and it means 'elegant'), which will include all Makkun-related written and published material up to this date. Contents include...

This release is currently available for pre-order and will be released at the end of July. Ordering the Miyabi BOX requires a special order form that is furnished at every Japanese post office; unfortunately, however, I am unsure how to place an order in countries outside of Japan.
2) Okui Masami and the rest of JAM Project are headed to Brazil this summer for the Brazilian audience's Animefriends convention. This is Makkun's first public appearance abroad.


2004.04.21 -
JAM Project singles 'VICTORY' and 'DRAGON' released today. There's a special ouboken (ticket drawing) campaign for these two releases. Those who mail in the ouboken which they will receive along with either single will receive a 'JAM Guardians Card', and they will be eligible to win an invitation pass to JAM's 'secret party' in downtown Tokyo which will take part in early summer (1,000 winners possible).

The first question asks for your gender (left is female, right is male); the second question asks for your age range; and finally, the last question asks for what song you'd like Makkun to sing in the concert tour. There is no limit to how many times you can take the poll, so don't despair about choosing only one song. ^^
