In On the Internet Richard Dreyfus argues that "distance learning" on the internet detracts from apprenticeship-based learning because the apprentice-master relationship would be lost in distance learning.

Another phenomenon is affecting how students learn--actually, how students don't learn: plagiarism. It seems like the internet and computer technology makes it so easy for students to copy text and make it seem like their own words.

Is online plagiarism as pervasive as I suspect?I think that the plagiarism is a pervasive issue and this can be seen through the vast online market for pro- and anti-plagiarism services.
