Where am I - In the US

Following the example in Japan and the first seven legs of our journey in Great Britain, Hungary, Egypt, India, Malaysia, Australia and Brazil, now I moved on to the US. First postcard: I am in the far and mighty west. Second postcard: I found a pebble. I think it is pyrite. Third postcard: I don't live up to my name, especially when I am shaken. Fourth postcard: What about a family with 300 less known brothers. So, let's meet. P.S. To make it more difficult for the enemy agents (and those don't have the solution) and to have a bit more fun, let's still use the absolute GPS positions instead of a descriptive solution. P.P.S. Probably a relatively easy one, especially because the members of this forum are in or familiar with the US (I have never been to there ), but still somehow this one is my favourite.

I am in the far and mighty west. = Washington, Oregon, California, and possibly Idaho, Nevada, or Arizona. What about a family with 300 less known brothers. Given the area, it makes me think of either a petrified forest or redwood forest. Probably with a famous tree. I found a pebble. I think it is pyrite. Supports the idea of a petrified forest. Pyrite is one of the substances that make up petrified wood. Could also hint at something from the California Gold Rush. (pyrite = fools gold = iron sulfide = FeS2) These are my first instincts. Thoughts?

Maybe. I actually solved it from the 300 brothers, and thinking of some natural landmark for which 1 of 300 is famous. Then the goldenrock and the unfaithfulness after a tremor instantly clicked. I'm just not sure if somehow "far and mighty" was supposed to be an additional hint of some kind. And I wasn't sure if I got the coordinates exact, because three different members of the Google Earth community labeled it in different spots, and you can't actually see it. Why couldn't the satellite have acted like a good tourist and waited until it was active to take a picture? Lately I've been having a terrible time logging in. I'll log in successfully, and as soon as I click on one of the forum pages I'm just a guest again. Is it because I upgraded IE? I set it to accept all cookies--doesn't help. I know this isn't the place to ask, but who knows if I'll ever be allowed back in once I leave here.

I would definitely avoid the new IE. Not sure if it is causing the problem, but avoid it anyways.

Well, that's good to hear. I would still avoid it like the plague, though.

I don't have issues with IE either. But it also does IP logging, so I am dropped out home when my ISP changes my IP address. From my office with permanent IP address (and checking at login, the never disconnect option) I am always in. Re the journey. Yes the first card was a very clear clue, much much more than it seems. Your goldenrock - I hope - was also a clue only not the solution of the second card. Third and fourth are clear.

This is Astrix: It seems the problem's not my browser; I tried Firefox and Netscape with the same results. But apparently I can log in just fine with a new login account, so I just might be azalia for a while. Anyway, yes, "far and mighty west" is a specific clue to Wyoming. I never bothered googling the phrase.

I am glad you found the first one. This is why I liked this destination in particular. It seemed so general that noone bothered with it, while it was so extremely specific. But on the second, your goldenrock is anonther way to put the clue of the pebble, I assume.
