External Committee will be focused on the training and management of CaHPSA’s certified enrollment counselors. Members will work with directors to plan CaHPSA enrollment and education events. Members will also provide trainings and presentations to other organizations and general members in order to promote great awareness and understanding of the healthcare system and health insurance.
Responsibilities
- Organize enrollment events either independently or in collaboration with other organizations
- Reach out to other orgs (on and off campus) to establish partnerships, etc.
- Create training material for prospective certified enrollment counselors
- Provide presentations on health insurance, etc to other orgs
- Educate general members on health insurance/ health system related issues
- Guide members through the certification process to become Covered California Certified Enrollment Counselors who are able to enroll eligible patients in Medi-Cal or Covered California Qualified Health Plans
Current Projects
- Ashland Free Medical Clinic Partnership – Partnered with a local free clinic to provide on-site health insurance enrollment services for their patients and answer any health-insurance-related questions
