In its thirty-five year history, Clio’s Scroll has published twenty volumes. Crucial to each volume has been the work of the journal’s editorial staff. Undergraduates with a demonstrated interest in cultivating an academic community among students of history are welcome to apply. Students with strong writing and analytical skills, as well as research and editing experience, are especially encouraged to apply.

In addition to the application above, each applicant is required to submit a brief writing sample. Please send us a writing sample between 5 – 15 pages that showcases your familiarity with the Chicago Manual of Style and ability to analyze and synthesize different source materials.

Membership in Clio’s Scroll is limited to undergraduates at the University of California, Berkeley. The journal strongly encourages as many upper-division students from the Department of History and with any areas of specialization to consider applying.
