Grow Your Own Food!

Growing your own food, if you have the ability to, is a great way to be more sustainable while taking care of your own health and supporting natural systems. Here are some useful resources if you are interested in starting a garden!

  • Seed sources
    • Ecology Center seed library on San Pablo Ave.
    • Grocery stores, especially Berkeley Bowl
    • Local Nurseries: East Bay nursery, Berkeley Horticultural Nursery, Spiral Gardens Community Food Security project
    • Gill Tract Community Farm Seed Swaps

    • Recology
    • free compost once a month at the Berkeley Marina
